A debate over a Democratic-sponsored sex education bill in the 2013 session inspired a “mostly out of context” video comprised of snippets of debate from Republican lawmakers.
Among those featured in the video: a clip of Rep. Mark Waller, R-Colorado Springs, saying “What are we afraid of” that is shown seven times.
“Bill Maher, they ain’t,” Waller said, after watching the piece. “I think the video Bill Maher did on Jaxine Bubis was way funnier than this. If I’m going to be lampooned, I want it to be funny.”
Bubis saw her candidacy for a Senate recall election implode after fellow Republicans outed her for writing porn novels.
